MONTECITO, CA--September 14, 2023 - Over the last two years, Suzanne Neal Perkins and Michelle Finley Heckman worked tirelessly compiling Suzanne's beautiful 104-page pictorial autobiography, Flying Through Life, about her significant life and daring adventures where she blazed her own trail. She’s an icon in the Montecito, California, community and a forerunner for ALL women in real estate.  Suzanne was thrilled to celebrate her book launch at the Montecito Country Mart and spend time with her beloved friends, clients, and colleagues throughout her 31 years in the Montecito real estate industry.

Suzanne Neal Perkins’s autobiography takes readers behind the scenes to show what life was like as one of America's top real estate agents, selling over $2 billion since her career began in Montecito, CA, in 1991. In 2007, she was named the Nation's Number 1 Real Estate Agent for selling El Cojo and Jalama ranches. Suzanne attributes her success to her early days as a Pan American World Airways In-Flight Purser. Courage and intrigue were part of her career, beginning when she heroically volunteered for a dangerous special assignment with the Department of Defense during the Vietnam War. During her 13-year career, from 1966 to 1979, Perkins also helped the FBI question a famous imposter and check forger, Frank Abagnale, who was impersonating an airline pilot during his capture - and was also her lover. Suzanne was also an avid horsewoman and breeder of national champion Arabian and half-Arabian show horses, and was a licensed US Equestrian Federation Judge.

Suzanne requested that donations for a copy of her book go to Hearts Therapeutic Equestrian Center. She has raised and donated over $1,500+ since the September Book Reveal event in Montecito. If you'd like to have a book shipped to you, please email michelle.heckman@compass.com.
